Energy production

Energy is necessary for the upkeep of all buildings and ships. Titans may also store excess energy in the Energy accumulator. When your energy production is not enough to support a new building or ship, you will not be allowed to build one.

Energy is produced from the following Power Plants:
Terran Power Plants
Terran AEC (home world only)
Titan Power Plants
Titan AEC (home world only)
Xen Power Plants
Xen AEC (home world only)
Xen Photosynthesis power plant
Each race starts with two types of power plants researched: the AEC and another race-specific plant (Titans-water, Terrans-wind, Xen-Solar), -for all the races the Fusion power plant must be researched. Other forms of power plants can be researched, but note that not all races have access to the same power sources--the Xen have a Thermal power plant but not a Hydro power plant.
An overview of energy research is given here: Research Energy. Aside from researching new forms of energy, each level of research grants an increase in the output of that particular form. In addition, the levels of each building can also be raised to increase production.
